I found a neat game a few years back that can be played online in a web browser. It has been developed over the years using PHP and mySQL. The code can be downloaded and setup in your own server.

You start off in a small space ship and need to trade between sectors to make credits that can then be spent upgrading your ship. You can play the game as a trader and try and hide from the other players or take a more aggresive stance and attack others.

As you progress you can create or attack planets and develope them as your own so that they too can create credits. You do need to defend your sectors and planets from other players.

People from all over the world play, all ages and males and females, do have a look. My usual player name is Alf, Cheers.
